Phil Davis Signs to Bellator MMA

Affliction’s Phil Davis has just announced that he has signed an exclusive multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA.  Phil Davis is coming from the UFC with a record of 13-3, holding wins against opponents including Lyoto Machida, Vinny Magalhaes, Tim Boetsch and Alexander Gustafsson.

In Ballator MMA’s press release Phil Davis comments:

“I can’t wait to be fighting in Bellator and wreck shop on everyone,” said Davis. “I am the absolute best and most dominant grappler to ever fight in MMA and I’m excited to get in there and compete at my new home.”

Affliction reached out to Davis about making the move to Bellator MMA and he responded with:

“MMA is a lot of business, and if there is an offer to go somewhere else and the package is better you have to do what makes sense.”

The move to Bellator will still keep Davis as a San Diego local.  Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Davis commented “I’ll still be living the dream in San Diego”.

When asked about his thoughts on other Bellator fighters in his weight class, Davis did not seem worried at all.  “I’m up on all of the fighters.  There’s no one in particular I’m aiming for, I’m just looking to be the best and go for the title shot as soon as possible.”

News of Davis signing was confirmed today in a tweet from Bellator:
